Participation by the representatives of the Organization in the UN ECOSOC Bodies and other meetings/Conferences

A. Participation in United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) and made written and oral statements on various agenda items encompassing Racism, Minorities, Terrorism, Right to Development, Women and Child at Geneva office of United Nations.

The ICE apart from raising awareness, also works with the policy makers for framing of more responsive and integrative policies on these social issues. The speakers and delegates to the various conferences organized by the Council are well known academicians who frame policies. The coucil highlights the social concerns of the United Nations on these issues and represents them to the respective governments and tries to bring about suitable modifications in their policies, as desirable by the various United Nations human rights conventions. In this context, ICE has also organized meetings with the High Commissioner for Human Rights, human rights experts, special rapporteurs, and at the same time has organized NGOs briefings and seminar on a variety of issues concerning human right violations.

The Council keeps a liaison with the United Nations Secretariat and its subsidiary agencies. The institute has also made special efforts to convince various States to implement the various human right related United Nations resolutions.

D. Participation in other NGOs International Meetings

  • Participated in the International Round Table on the Possibility of Building Unconstrained Economy in the era of Globalization organized by AAPSO in Egypt. July 2007
  • Participated in Symposium on the International Peace in 21st Century organized by International Institute for Peace in Vieena, Austria, in 10-11 May 2009.

Ice Participation in United Nations Programmers
ICE was granted UN Consultative status with ECOSOC in June, 1995. As an international organization in consultative status with ECOSOC, ICE is regulary participating in various UN Programmes at New York, Vienna and Geneva. ICE is instrumental in disseminating of United Nations information to the wider sections of society through its quarterly journal Indian Education Digest and by organizing various meetings, seminars and conferences.
