ABOUT US

Indian Council of Education an International Organization having UN Consultative Status was established in 1985 (Under the Registration of Society Act of 1860) with the purpose of working for the promotion of social consciousness among the masses particularly among the economically weaker and socially backward sections of the Indian Society.

Against the prevailing evils, to make them aware about the significance of education as an instrument of economic, social and cultural emancipation and welfare of the people and encourage among them collective initiatives against such social problem as impinge upon the quality of human life.

Indian Council of Education is an organization for providing assistance and guidance to educational institutions and to start a new educational Institution in such places where there is a great demand of education, Creches. Adult education from Nursery to Higher Secondary classes and technical education, mental health, paramedical training, teachers training, pre-primary teacher training and job oriented and education to eradicate the illiteracy in that area.

Also initiates welfare programme like adult education, women training centres, old age homes, nursery and kindergarten classes for children of working mothers and day-care centres for dependent children of destitute mothers and higher education affiliated to International University and female education.

The growing problem of alcoholism and drug abuse in educational institutions, the Council has taken upon itself the tasks of awareness building and community education regarding its ill effects and of rendering services for the identification, referral, counselling and guidance, de-addiction, treatment and rehabilitation of drug addicts outdoor medical and indoor medical treatment is also in our aims.

In pursuance of this, the Council is trying to develop a network among research institutions and non-governmental organizations in the third world and other developing countries in collaboration with the United Nations agencies and various other regional, interregional and international organizations.

In 1995 Indian Council of Education was granted United Nations Consultative Status with ECOSOC.

Indian Council of Education also conducts seminars, symposiums, conferences, workshops, training courses and technical Exchange programmes, in the relevant fields to focus and highlight the impact of socio-cultural and economic development on our society, particularly among the younger generation.
